URC and Indy cars footage…from the 1960’s

This is 51 minutes of racing footage from about 1966 to 1967. The tracks are Flemington NJ, Lincoln Speedway PA, Indy, and Hamburg NY. My Dad was big into covering sprint car racing back then and would travel all over with the URC taking pictures and videos of the races. I remember in our basement some pretty wild photos of crashes and other happenings from those times. He actually caught, on camera, the instant one driver got killed in a wreck…it wasn’t always glam and rock and roll. Anyway, he had these 8mm films for a long time and when VCR’s got big, had them converted to VHS, then when digital became big…I took them and transferred them over to a DVD I made of my Dad’s life after he passed in 2004. After seeing one of my BMX friends post about the old Flemington Raceway a little while back, I remembered I had these and resolved to get them up on the web where other people who are into the history of motorsports in the NJ-PA area can check them out. So here they are in all their 8mm glory. Please, feel free to pass these around, share them on racing sites or wherever you want. I’m sure my Dad would be real happy to see that the time he took making these in his younger days was not wasted and they have now been enshrined for eternity on the web. Rock and roll racing bitches!
