OS BMX Footage: 1980 Jag Worlds Indy

This video is so historic it should be in a NJ BMX museum someplace on constant loop. This was shot by Andy and Barry Moraller’s Dad in 1980 in Indianapolis for the Jag BMX World Championships. Back then there was no french UCI crap or “supercross” just wooden jumps, hair spray on the tires and a few thousand BMX riders in Indiana in the winter. We were there as Nick Novices but the vibe was INSANE. BMX racing was so fresh and new and the idea of getting people from all over the planet in one place to race was just nuts! The “World Champion” at these events was the winner of the final trophy dash of the day. I feel incredibly lucky to have been around not only at the beginning of BMX racing but also the beginning of BMX freestyle. Those 3 little letters completely changed my life…
